Just a one night stay while spending 24 hours in Eisenach, as part of a longer trip. The hotel is in a great location, close to the railway and bus stations, and just a 3 minute walk to the centre of Eisenach. Very friendly and helpful reception staff. Room was excellent. Comfortable bed. Had a very tasty dinner at the hotel. Price was very reasonable. I would definitely recommend.

Great hotel, modern clean and perfect for a quick stay near the train station. Let down by appallingly bad wifi. All night it cycled every minute or so, not working, working. One star for the wifi, as a tourist you need it to work.

Te reception insisted on prepayment. A note of the management indicated this to be more "practical". I found it to be a hostile welcome. Mediocre breakfast. If you like a soft mattress the bed is OK. My back did not like it. Noisy place at the main crossroads of the city. The entire place needs a renovation. No parking garage. Public garage across the road for 12€ a night. The restaurant's menu drove us away. There are nice places for supper in the vicinity.

We spent two nights here. The rooms were clean, the bed was comfortable and the shower was very good and easy to use. TV and wi-fi worked well. It's a pity that no kettle is ever provided in Europe. The breakfast was fairly basic but adequate and included good muesli and rolls. The staff were helpful. We were sorry we didn't have the chance to finish our conversation with the "evening" lady who booked us in but she was on the phone the second time we went back to the hotel and then we didn't see her again. It's only 2 minutes from the station and about 10 minutes into the town centre. Eisenach is an attractive and interesting place to visit. It's also possible to get a train to Gotha which is also worth a short visit. We went there for one evening.

Rooms were very basic, but well cleaned! My partner's mattress had springs almost poking through, but it didn't bother him sleeping. So beds could use an update. The breakfast was a bit chaotic at times. You could only sit where cutlery was laid. But many tables had already been cleaned when we came, and new cutlery was not put on the tables. The basket with boiled eggs was often empty. Breakfast wasn't bad, but it could be better. Staff was friendly. Very near to the train station, shops (supermarket, drugstore) opposite the hotel.

I stayed in the hotel for two nights. I enjoyed my stay a lot. If you want to make your stay more convenient and cosy then you should book apartment room, as it was with me. You will get whole apartment, with big kitchen, living room and bed room and big bathroom with bath tub. Yes, don’t wait for modern design - everything is quite simple but it’s ok. Hotel is situated next to the railway and bus stations and to the old city it’s only 10 minutes walk

We stayed in this hotel for one night during our travel in Germany. The hotel is located near the train station and close to the historic city center, which is a great plus. Our room was in the third floor towards the inner courtyard. So it was very quiet during the night. The room and bathroom were very clean. Staff was friendly and the breakfast was okay. The buffet wasn't that big, but enough choice to get full. A bit awkward is the way of registering to use the free Wifi. We needed to register at the reception and then got a code. Also that we had to pay during check-in was a bit weird.||The downside of this hotel is in my opinion the price. The rooms are very simple and functional, no decoration or extras like a water cettle. But the room rate is comparable to really big cities or tourist hot-spots in Germany. Also the fee of 5 Euro for the hotel parking space is pretty high. If you want to park the car for free, you can try the small parking lot near the pharmacy. Follow the street from the hotel towards the city centre. It is on the left side, just before the intersection.

I love the very low key aspect of Eisenach and the City Hotel goes along with this vibe. We came here at the end of the day, after strolling through Eisenach and visiting the Bach site. The hotel itself is in the city center where it appears all of the buses congregate, although we didn’t see much hustle and bustle on the weekend. It was a little confusing as to which floor our room was on; our key was for room 43 and we ended up on the 4th floor American (it is called the 3rd floor here). It was tricky getting the key (an actual key) to work, but we finally managed it. The room is small and tight, which is okay, the bathroom as well; everything was in perfect order and our view was of the hills adjacent to which was a huge building project. It was a little warm at night, we didn’t keep the window completely open because during the night, one of us would probably have bumped in to it on the way to the bathroom. I was disappointed as it did not appear that we had Wi-fi; I noticed on the wall an explanation as there is Wi-fi but you have to arrange it with the desk. That was one hoop I did not need at the end of the day. Also, there was not an outlet next to the bed for the iPhone. Overall a nice place.||Breakfast was wonderful. They had a machine for coffee allowing you to choose whatever you wanted. I first chose a cappucino and then had a milchkaffee. The breads and meats were great and they had some wonderful tiny donuts with chocolate and some doughnuts looking like doughnut holes and having a dollop of jelly inside. A great breakfast.||
