When travelling from Rotterdam to Rugen we stayed overnight at Thunenhof. The room was comfortable, quiet, clean, well equiped and included a kitchenette. Breakfast was excellent and good value. Oyten centre approximately 1 km from the Hotel contains shops, snackbars and 2 or 3 good restaurants. Tip, useful to have a satnav or good map to find the hotel from the A1.

The balance between price and value is just right. I had a single bed room, with just the necessities, a desk, chair, lighting etc. and a comfortable bed. The breakfast consist of buns, cereals, dark bread, youghurts, coffee, tea, juice and a few other things. It is not like going to breakfast at a brand-like hotel, but it is definitely adequate and for the price, I would not ask for more.
The Hotel is great if one is in the area for work (I had to go between Buxtehude and Oldenburg, so the location was really perfect).
If you want to take a walk in the area, that is also possible (go to the left when you exit the hotel to get to some farmlands)

The one thing I would recommend is to increase their internet speed and stability (at least in the building where I stayed).
The connection was a tad slow, could not handle a Skype conversation and at some points it disconnected completely for no reason. I noticed it was somewhat better in the main building.

But all in all great value for money - I would recommend it any day!

It is a very nice and family owned hotel. ||||If you are driving through Germany to Holland, this the place to stop to sleep over||||The owner is extremely friendly and youreally feel welcome||||The rooms are nice and clean and the staff are friendly.||||The breakfast is very nice.
